Beverly Hills jeweler Martin Katz had the honor of being selected as the only independent American designer to participate in the inaugural Grand Prix de la Haute Joaillerie (GPHJ). This prestigious new international event, co-founded by Jean-Philippe Braud and the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, at the legendary Salle des Étoiles in the Monte-Carlo.

Conceived as a tribute to the excellence of high jewellery, the GPHJ assembled the most revered names in the world—Anna Hu, Boucheron, Bulgari, Chanel, Chopard, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Martin Katz, Louis Vuitton, Messika, and Tiffany & Co. —uniting heritage and innovation on one dazzling stage. This exceptional line-up reflects the international scope and unifying spirit of the GPHJ, conceived as a universal celebration of jewellery excellence at the crossroads of heritage and innovation.

Martin Katz presented three one-of-a-kind jewels and a “Heritage” piece that embody the hallmarks of his design philosophy: architectural precision, distinctive artistry, and the celebration of extraordinary stones. Among the collection of showpieces: a Bluish Pink Sapphire Trellis ring microset with diamonds, No -Oil Emerald Pinwheel Earrings, Blue Topaz ring with microset gemstones, and the Diamond Bow “Anniversary” Pin for the “Heritage” category —each handcrafted, signed, and numbered, reflecting the maison’s enduring commitment to rarity and refinement.

“Being part of the Grand Prix de la Haute Joaillerie is an extraordinary moment in my journey as a jewelry designer,” said Martin Katz. “I’ve always believed that high jewelry is an art form—expressive of voice and distinctive in its nature. To share my creations in Monaco, surrounded by master designers of haute joaillerie, is a privilege and a beautiful reminder of why we create: to provoke the senses and delight.”

The celebration included a public exhibition across Monaco’s most prestigious boutiques and culminated in a gala dinner and awards ceremony celebrating the artistry, emotion, and global resonance of haute joaillerie. In the three days leading up to the gala evening, each participating Maison showcased pieces from their high jewellery collection in the windows of its Monaco address, inviting residents and visitors alike to a citywide journey of discovery filled with surprises and wonder. At the same time, the Café de la Rotonde at the Casino hosted an unprecedented public exhibition featuring exceptional pieces entrusted by the Maisons, including a Bluish Pink Sapphire Trellis Ring from the Aurora Collection by Martin Katz.

“To be included among this exceptional group of talent is both humbling and exhilarating,” said Martin Katz. “I’ve always believed high jewelry is an art form—expressive, emotional, and timeless. To share my creations on such a stage — surrounded by master designers of haute joaillerie — was a privilege and a beautiful reminder of why we create: to provoke the senses and delight.”
